Is there a way to configure the joystick buttons on an RP to move the focus point by default? I did not see this option in the button configuration screen for the joystick buttons but I am hoping I missed something. I know I can use the joystick buttons after first pressing the focus point selection button but I do not want to do that. What I am looking for is the same behavior that I have on my R5. Thanks for any suggestions.

There should be. That is the whole point of having a joystick.
By factory default, the joystick is disabled from moving the AF point. I guess the engineers decided that they don’t want new users to accidentally move the AF point and not know why the AF point moved.
Have to go into the “Custom Controls” menu to enable the joystick. It is accessible by pressing {Menu] and navigating to the right menu.
It is also accessible using the Quick Control Screen when you press the [Q] button. Select the icon that looks like a camera body.
