I have EOS 700D.I am very new to photography.I want to shoot timelapse but I do not have an intervalometer.I found an android app on google play called DSLR Remote. Will it harm my camera body if I connect my DSLR to my phone using cable??Does it wise to use android app instead of intervalometer??

Using a cable to your smartphone?  What kind of a cable.  That is highly unorhodox.  Connections are usually made to smartphones wirelessly.  I would not recommend trying it.

I'm not sure if that is the same app the OP referred to.  His was named "DSLR Remote" from Google Play, not DSLR Controller.

I've used this DSLR Controller by Chainfire APP with a cable and my classic 7D it worked fine.

It may not be free, but, it is worth the few dollars to get it.
