Looking for information on how to keep the LCD screen off while shooting. I need the relevant setting and how to save that setting.
Additionally if anyone knows how to shorten photo review time after each shot.

If you do not already have a copy of the full User Manual, then you should download a copy from Canon Support. Read it. Put the camera into P mode on the top dial, and explore the menus.
Do it before you conclude that that the camera is not very good. What you are asking for is pretty basic stuff.
