EOS R5 Mark II max write speed

I am looking to buy a CF express card and would like to know what is the maximum write speed the R5 Mk II can sustain? I was reading the original R5 was 500/mbs but no info on the Mk II.  Thank you

The write speed for the MkII is approximately 520 MB/s for high-res photography (RAW/JPEG), obviously faster if you shoot low-res.

The write speed is also dependent on the card you load, 1700 MB/s read/1400 MB/s cards will clear the buffer faster after bursts and may perform better than the projected 520 MB/s. Slower cards may not support the 520 MB/s. It's best to always purchase the fastest card your budget will allow especially if you shoot burst.

So a cards with a sustained write speed of 800 to 3000 makes no difference? They made no write speed improvements from the R5 to the R5 mk ii?

What is published (always conservative) and what is reality are two different animals.

As an example battery life, I get significantly more then the estimated 320 shots in my R5, almost twice as much consistently over what is published. But if you go by what is documented then you are correct, not much changed from the R5 to the R5 MkII.

Why would they want to?  Has there been any performance improvements in the storage media?

It seems to me that making significant improvements in write speed could render the camera incompatible with many cards that are already on store shelves.

Users may start experiencing problems saving their images.  That doesn’t seem like a good thing to me.

Usually cards with a sustained write speed over 800MB/s are faster than the camera can write(don't care about max, sustained is the important one), faster won't clear the buffer sooner.

One reason to buy faster ones is future proofing, who knows what next gen. camera's can do.

Another reason is the read speed, if using card readers to download to your computer.
