EOS 50D with 1.0.7 firmware, where to find 1.0.8?

Pulling out my EOS 50D and want to update the firmware to latest 1.0.9 but that upgrade only works when the camera is on 1.0.8 it seems.  Mine is on 1.0.7.

Canon does not have the 1.0.8 firmware anywhere on their website, so I'm stuck.  Where can I download 1.0.8 from?

Looking to rekindle a hobby I had before marriage, house remodel and 2 kids... :^)

Greetings ,

Firmware updates are cumulative.  There is no requirement to upgrade from 1.0.7 to 1.0.8 before upgrading to 1.0.9.

You can go straight to 1.0.9 from whatever version you're on now. It will include all of the updates from prior versions.

You are correct.  After I fully charged the battery it was able to update the firmware from 1.0.7 directly to 1.0.9.

FW update is not necessary unless it fixes a problem you are experiencing. Some FW updates just add additional languages to the menu for instance so unless you need that or speak that language the update is not needed. SOem do add new lens data and you may or may not have or use that specific lens, etc. It is a wise practice to see what the FW update corrects or does to see if you actually need it. If you don't need it the FW update will not make any difference.
