Hello,
I shot a project on a Canon R7 and notice that at some point, a bunch of my files for one scene switched between h265 codec to h264, then back to h265. I have no memory of switching codecs, but all of the h265 files are shot in cLog which is desired while all of the h264 files appear to have a LUT burned in. Unless someone on my team messed with the camera while I was away, I'm confused as to how this happened. Further, why does the H264 footage appear to be colored and can I negate it somehow?
Attached is a photo of the codec information from VLC about these two file types. There is no difference between color spaces, the primary difference appears to be the codec.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Is it possible that the camera was switched between still and video shooting modes? In stills you can press the movie record button and it will start recording with the movie settings from the still menu, and here C-log is not possible to select, plus if the camera is set for HDR PQ off, in stills mode then no H265 codec either.

Greetings sageroulade,
It is odd that there is a difference between the two clips where you state the only difference is the codec used for each one. The camera does require manual input from the user to switch between different shooting formats and would not automatically change it from one codec to another. Please test the camera to see if recording a few clips will retain the settings you are wanting to use and if the footage does not appear to have issues when editing or viewing them on your computer.

Hi Brian,
I believe this could be it! There is a series of photos before the issue begins that my AC took. Oddly, the very last take of that section does not have the issue, but I think your assessment is correct. Thank you

If the stills show that the camera was configured with HDR PQ disabled - you can find this in the metadata of the still images using Canon DPP software - then I think this is a likely cause. Probably after the stills were captured the camera mode switch was left in still mode, not switched back to movie. Then the captured movies use the settings from still mode, not movie.
