Hello Maxmrdck, We've seen problems with the update. A complete uninstall and reinstall from the app store should correct the issue. If you are still having problems please contact our support team at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666)

Okay, I just got it to work. Here's what I did:
1. Uninstall and reinstall the Canon app.
2. Have your phone forget the Canon network.
3. On the wifi menu of the camera, reset the wifi settings. This will bring you back to the initial setup with the pass code.
4. Let your iPhone find the network and enter the camera's code when prompted for the password.
5. Open the app. The app will list the camera. Select it and let it connect.
6. Everything should start working again at this point.

Called Canon... no help... they just took my information and said that would send it up to some technical people in the sky I guess and if enough people call and complained then they will eventually fix the bug.
I'm not pissed anymore just depressed. This stinks.

A paper weight because *one* of the many options you have to get pictures off the camera does not work?

No I only have one SD card. The one with my photos on it. The last version of this app had no problem reading my SD card.
Your first post said you have deadlines, which suggests that you're at least a semi-professional photographer. But you don't use a card reader and have only one SD card. You're a risk taker; I'll give you that.
