Canon 70d freezes up after taking pictures for a while

I have a rebel t31 and it was freezing up often after taking pictures. I upgraded to a 70D and I still have the same problem. I am guessing that means I am doing something to create this to happen?! Any suggestions? I have tried new batteries, and that made no difference.

I have the same problem after using the camera 1 1/2 years with no problem, but no way to switch it on again. I was taking a picture in AV mode and raised the ISO as the exposure was too long and after taking the photo, which was ok, at 0.8 sec. f3.5 with the 50mm lens. Where is the problem????

I usually shoot in av or tv mode - doing photos of children and babies usually.
I helped at a wedding 2 weekends ago and it froze up then, too.
