How old is the battery?  Note that the EOS 60D was released 13 years ago, so Canon no longer has the BP-511 battery.

I do see some non-Canon brand batteries at B&H Photo, but the Watson brand seems to only have the BP-511A.  Canon's BP-511A battery is not listing the EOS 60D in its compatibility section, so assuming that you couldn't thus use a BP-511A.

The only brand at B&H for a BP-511 is "Jupio" which I've never heard about.

Finally, this could also be a fault with the camera.   Some camera repair places may still be able to repair the EOS 60D, but you'd have to see if it would even be worth it.

my battery is LP-E6N

Do you have any spare batteries to test the camera out with to see if the camera powers up.

Actually the 60D was the first midrange APS-C camera to use transition to LP-E6 series batteries and transition to SD Cards instead of CF Cards. So any LP-E6 series batteries will work with the camera.

Ah, I see.

Hopefully the OP will still answer the "how old is the battery" question.  I also suspect that the camera could very well be at fault due to its age.

How old is the battery? Is it the original battery from when the camera was first purchased (assuming you bought it new at release or somewhere close to then). Or have the batteries been replaced since then. If the original battery I suggest replacing it with the current gen LP-E6NH battery pack. Any other LP-E6 batteries would also work too but battery life wouldn't be as good as the current LP-E6NH pack.

I didn't believe it myself, but it's true.

Battery Health can be checked on most Canon Cameras using the following menu option, but the camera has to turn on to use it.

You can also use an Ohms Meter to check voltage, etc.

Have we established if the battery is an OEM Canon Battery, or if the battery is at least a reputable brand? Can the camera communicate with the battery? Is the battery capable of communicating with the camera?
