5D Mark II, view finder issues, cuts off the bottom of image

Sorry if this has been asked before.  When I'm shooting, mainly sports, with my 100-400 4.5-5.6 L IS lens, I frame the photo I want, but when I download the picture, it cuts off the bottom portion.  I see this mainly with close up pictures. It's not a lot, but it's enough to miss a slide into 3rd base and see if he's safe or out!!  I've tried to compensate and zoom out, but when I'm shooting from 1st or 3rd, it's hard to react.  I'm just a Grandma taking fun pics!  Thanks for your help!

Could you please post more than two sample photos.  Your descriptions are consistent with a failing shutter, I’m afraid.

I believe that the 5D Mark II suffered from mirror issues too. Like becoming detached or not completely returning to the correct position. When the picture has been taken.

shoeinbend,

What aspect ratio are you shooting in ?

Steve Thomas

Thank you for the response!  I was afraid it was something like this.  I've never noticed it until recently.  Must be time for an upgrade 🙂  It's hard to post pictures because it's what I see in the viewfinder compared to what is actually downloaded.  Again, thanks!

Thanks for the reply.  I'll keep adjusting manually while I'm taking the picture and look for an upgrade 🙂

Shooting in RAW ..5616x3744.  Sounds like I might be looking for an upgrade 😞  I love this camera!
