I have a SX500 is  and when I use my wide angle lens it leaves a black border around my photos. What am I doing wrong?

What "wide angle lens"?

This is not an interchangable lens camera and camera does not make a focal length reducer (adapter) for it.

I* was partially in error. i misread the Google search and though there was a Canon product. All the products Isaw were third party items. They are auxilliary lenses that screw on to the front of the SX500 lens. My suspicion is that the OP might have the smaller model and it is vignetting.

Hi. Depending on the thread size you may have a situation where the adapter is creating an image that is smaller than the lens. What size thread adapter is it.

The Powershot SX500 IS is a pretty nice camera.  By itself that is.  Don't screw add-ons to the front of any lens.  None of them make IQ better. Period!

EOS 1DX and 1D Mk IV and less lenses then before!
