canon FD 100-300 mm 5.6

was trying to stoot with the 100-300 mm 5.6 lens in manual mode. it would not stop down. tried another lens, and it worked normanlly. i\s there any way to test the lens. i realy don't think it was me or the camera. thanx!

canon F1N (new) with AE viewfinder. I think the problem is stuck aperture blades. the disassembly vids on youtube look doable. and even if I screw it up, I can buy another lens for under $50.

FD lenses are mechanical.  EF lenses are electronic.  They will not interchange.

EOS 1DX and 1D Mk IV and less lenses then before!

I'm using FD lenses with an F1N (new)
