I've been holding out for a RF 35mm L-Series prime lens only to be disappointed by a "hybrid" photo/video lens that, to be honest, seems geared toward video with photography as an afterthought.
Has anyone on here heard anything, or is there something out there that I missed, about a photography-centric RF 35mm f/1.4 L USM lens? Or am I going to be holding out for a long time?
Before anyone recommends it, I have zero interest in using an EF series lens and an adaptor.

What is your question concerning the Canon RF 35mm f/1.4 L VCM Lens? Are you asking if it can be used for stills? The answer is yes and it will do a good job. The VCM simply means Voice Coil Motor if that has a concern for you. This lens seems to have a significant amount of distortion but certainly correctable in post.
You said you are not interested in any EF lens so that means you are really not interested in the best lens available in 35mm because the EF version doesn't have that much distortion and neither of them have the IQ of the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens.
