RF 24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM How to use manual focus

Aerobatpj

I have just bought this lens for use on my EOS R6 mk 2 and very pleased with results. However it does not seem to have a manual focus option. Am I missing something in the camera settings to use the control ring as a manuel focus or is it not possible.

Greetings,

The button on the lens tells it what you want to use the control ring for.  Focus or Control Ring.  You have to set the desired focus mode in the camera's menu, but MF is available full time if the switch is set to focus.

See the lens manual pages 5 & 7 for details.

It lacks a physical switch to toggle between autofocus and manual focus, it offers full-time manual focus override when in One-Shot AF mode. You can manually focus using the focusing ring.

I have the same camera and lens. I have used the manual focus. I go the Menu>AF>Page 1>Focus Mode>MF. Worked well. Sometimes I think I get better focus with manual than with the auto focus.

" I think I get better focus with manual than with the auto focus."

I would really doubt that. Perhaps there is something wrong or off with the AF system.
