Prime lens alternative to the EFS 18-55mm

Hi,

I recently started surf water photography and I’m looking to upgrade my canon efs 18-55mm lens. I need a lens that is the same/similar size to fit in my water case housing. Thanks for your help!

First you need to decide what focal length prime you want and then compare dimensions. That’s something you can do as well as anyone else.

Go through your images. (If you have Photos you can create a smart album to do this.) find what focal length you use the most. Then start hunting for a lens at that focal length. Canon has some pancakes that are much smaller!

Best "normal" prime for a cropper is one of the 35mm or 28mm lenses. Almost any other is not likely to fit your underwater case.
