I would like to try out the RF 100-300 F2.8. I assume so does everyone else. I just joined CPS, and it will be my first request. There can only be one request at a time. I could also use an opportunity to play with the EF 300mm f2.8 and the RF 400mm f2.8, although the 100-300mm is the only one I am seriously considering buying. I just want to see if I can handle it handheld for a game.
Should I put in my request for the RF 100-300 F2.8 and get stuck in wait for ... months? Or is it smarter to ask for the older, less requested primes?
What has your experience been with any of these three lenses as far as wait time?
Thank you!

If you don't want to wait (and Canon's CPS website doesn't show any estimated availability times), then consider renting the lens (lensrentals dot com, borrowlenses dot com, etc.).
