Greetings,

Yes, it will.  It will mount to the camera without needing an adapter.  On your 1200d, the 70-200 will provide a field of view equivalent of 112-320 mm.

Your camera, also known as the Rebel T5, will take ANY EF or EF-S mount lens ever made.

NOT EF-M, R, or anything else.

"Will Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM White fit my camera it’s a EOS 1200D?"

There must be more to this story since an ef 70-200mm f2.8L seems an odd parring with a Rebel T5. Not that it wouldn't be great but people generally don't buy an entry level camera to use a top of the line lens.

I bought an entry level camera for my partner as she loves taking pictures of the kids but she never used it and I started taking pictures of my sons rugby team so done research and found this lens is essential for sports shooting as I fell in love with sports shooting

Why not?  It's the lens that makes the image.

"Why not? "

There is no why not or even is it a bad idea, it is simply uncommon. More power to Alexfernandes98, I hope it works out as a fantastic combo.
