I have an earlier Rebel XT with the kit lens, a 70-300mm lens, a 50mm macro lens, and a 35mm lens that all function. I'd want to upgrade to the Rebel T8i, but I'm thinking about just purchasing the body. Will my lens be compatible with this latest camera body? Thank you for your help.

Yes. Both the Rebel XT and Rebel XTi can use EF and EF-S lenses.

If those are all Canon EF/EF-S lenses, should be no problem using them on the newer camera.
If any of them are other brands of lenses (such as Sigma, Tamron, etc.), there occasionally are compatibility issues between older lenses and newer cameras... but you really can't be sure until you try.

"I have an earlier Rebel XT with the kit lens, a 70-300mm lens, ..."
As mentioned your lenses will mount and work as well as they did on the XT. However, since the XT, these lenses have gotten pretty nice upgrades. The newer models are very much better. The reason to bring this up is the fact the lens makes the photo. Not the camera. Getting a much better camera and not getting the best lenses for it is only an half upgrade. There is no doubt you will see better results going from an XT to a T8i. But it could be even better.

I am not familiar with the Canon 50mm macro so I have no comment except the warning from Alan that if it is an off brand and the same age as your XT, it could have compatibility problems. Unlikely for sure but possible. I'll assume the 35mil is a Canon EF lens and will be just fine.
