70-200mm f2.8 Problem with focal length

Hello my first time here... such knowledge!!!! love it 🙂 

I purchased a canon 70-200mm f2.8 lens used/damaged at a ridiculous price; it focuses great manual and auto, but in changing from 70mm to 200mm, the ring mechanically goes to the 135 mark and stops dead.  Any thoughts as to what might be wrong with it?

The best thing is to send it to Canon.  Most likely it got dropped and some internal part(s) got broken. It needs a further check out anyway. If it got dropped it probably need to be realigned and/or calibrated.  You can't do that.
