constant error messages on TS8360 eg paper size wrong or no paper when there is nothing wrong.

I have had printer for a relatively short time but it constantly give me error messages for no apparent reason eg I try to print a doc onto A4 and it says I have no letter sized paper.  It says paper not loaded correctly when it is.  When it eventually prints after turning it off and on again repeatedly, the quality is bad eg. a grid comes out all squiggly so is useless for my purposes. The printer makes a crazy grinding noise. I am very disappointed in this product. Will probably buy an Epson next unless someone can sort this out for me. thanks
