cartridge 220 and 221 recommended for the MP640 printer are not recognised by my printer

Hello, the canon site recommande cartrige220 and 221 for my MP640 but after the first try the printer doesn't reconnized the cartridge. I have previously 521 and 520 but no nore in any shop.

If you purchased your PIXMA MP640 in North America, it should accept Canon PGI-220 and CLI-221 ink cartridges only. If your printer was intended for sale and use in a different part of the world, we recommend checking its manual and using the ink cartridges it specifies.
