I just want to know why it does this every single time I install a new cartridge. All the cables are connected. It's checked and double checked. There is no connectivity problem that I can see. Why does this happen every single time? What is its problem?!

Greetings,
Your report is the first I've heard of this. "printer goes off line after cartridge change"
Are you using Canon branded inks?
Have you power cycled the printer?

Canon ink every time. Same situation with every ink cartridge. Powered printer off/on. Did no good. Even did the head cleaning, realigning -- with customer service support on the phone. Finally they just had me remove and reinstall the drivers all over again. Should not have to do this for a simple ink cartridge change!

Thanks for acknowledging my problem. It's beyond annoying. It's interfering with my health.
