PIXMA TS9521C - Black Lines on Illustration Print Gray/Blue

I've been trying to print this illustration, but all of my attempts have the line art appearing gray or light blue. For some reason, only the line art is affected while the rest of the colors look fine. I replaced the black and magenta cartridges since they were low, but the problem is still happening. What should I do?

Hi GenDolDesigns,

Please load plain paper into the cassette of your TS9521C and then follow these steps:

!.  Turn your PIXMA TS9521C on.

2.  Tap the gear icon at the bottom of your printer's display.

3.  Tap Maintenance.

4.  Tap Print nozzle check pattern and then Yes.

A test page will print.

Please compare your printout with the example on this page:

TS9500 series > Maintenance > Examining the Nozzle Check Pattern

If your nozzle check does not print correctly, please follow the steps on this page:

TS9500 series > Maintenance > If Printing Is Faint or Uneven > Maintenance Procedure
