PIXMA TR4720 photos printing overall faded and gray instead of black

amheaton

I have a new PIXMA TR4720 printer right out of the box. When I print text or an image from MS Word or pdf, it prints normally. When I print out a photo from both my phone and my laptop, the photo comes out with the colors faded and gray where black should be. (For example, I printed out a photo of a coloring page, and the black lines were all gray.) I printed these out on plain 8.5x11 paper, which matched the settings on the printer and in the applications I was printing from. How can I get my photos to print with the correct colors?

Change setting from borderless printing to bordered, don't know why but this has worked many times.

Alas, I already tried switching to bordered printing, and it didn't work. Thanks though!

Hi amheaton,

Please load plain paper into your PIXMA TR4720 and then follow these steps:

1.  Please press the wrench and screwdriver button on your TR4720 one time.

2.  Repeatedly press the right arrow key to select Maintenance and press OK.

3.  Press OK on Nozzle check and a test page will print.

Please take a picture of the test page that you just printed and then please attach it to your reply of this post.
