PIXMA G7020 Scan to Email "So simple even a tech can do it"

OK. Just delivered and set up a G7020 for a client.  Very impressive little printer and the setup/Install is a dream. BUT...

It is always the But...

The instructions for SCAN to EMAIL lacks one important instruction:

On Windows the client (aka what mailer is being used) has to be set as the default eMAIL APP in Windows Settings. In my client's case the client/mailer is Thunderbird.  The Canon scan software sees it but can't do the execute without Thunderbird set as default email.

In this client's case we sent an Epson back to Amazon because we could not get the Scan to email working. The  fix above works on my Epson.

The G7020 is a great deal. Lots of black ink, has a sheet feeder and a real paper tray. And way faster than the Epson.

ciao,

kaosken
