New Canon PRINT App Disconnected MF227dw Printer - Can't Scan Anymore

Hello, I was forced to download the new Canon print app for my MF227dw printer, and now it will not connect to my computer for scanning; however, Canon has informed me the only support for this printer is now online. How can I find instructions to make my printer connect for scanning again?
