My Canon MX410 will no longer fax or scan documents.

My Canon MX410 will no longer fax or scan documents.  The fax always goes through as busy even though it's to my computer, and the scanner will not scan to either my computer (hooked to the printer), or to a USB Thumb Drive (not recognized),  I cannot figure out why as it all worked when I first set it up.
