Color Print qualities sucks on Pixma tr4720 brand new out of the box

my HP printer went out so I went and got me a canon Pixma TR 4720 I opened it out of the box set it all up, hooked it up to my router, my Internet checked out the wireless that all worked good. Then I tried the color print and I printed the American flag first and I noticed it was distorted so I said, maybe it’s just a picture so then I took a picture that I printed with my HP and you saw how deep and dark the color picture was. It’s a good versus evil so then I printed it out with the Canon printer and the print quality sucks. So I’m hoping that somebody can help change the settings on this thing or it’s going back in a box and it’s going to  be returned
