Canon TR8520 prints test page and Jpegs ok, but not Google Word or pdf docs

I've been converting my PDF's to JPEG's in order to print.  This happens from multiple initiating devices (PC, Mac, iPhone).  Firmware is the latest version.

Has anyone seen this bizarre problem?  Thanks!
