I upgraded my laptop because of the Windows 10 obsolescence and now I'm unable to install the printer drivers for my PIXMA TR4720 printer/scanner. I'm able to print via USB connection anyway just from having my laptop locate the printer, but I'm not able to scan as I think I need the utility...? I have a Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3x if that makes a difference.
I tried the Master setup as well as the Print Driver and Scan Utility Installer Ver.1.04 (Windows) setup and first I encounter this error:
"This program is not supported by the computer."
I also got this error specific to the Master setup file: "This software is not supported by computers running Windows on ARM. Click [OK] to close this software and open the manual. Set up the printer following the instructions in the manual."
But I'm not really sure which part of the manual it's referencing...?
If I try to Run As Administrator per the Troubleshooting instructions, I get this far: "Can't create output file: ..."
Are these drivers compatible with Windows 11 so I can use my old printer with my new laptop for scanning (and ideally wifi printing, though this is less pressing)?

Hi trishinboots,
The drivers and software available from the Support Page of the PIXMA TR4720 are for the macOS and Intel-based Windows computers.
When using an ARM-based computer, the drivers and software are available from Microsoft. Further information can be viewed in this article:
PIXMA / MAXIFY Products: Windows 10 / Windows 11 on ARM-Based Computers
To scan, please download and install "Windows Scan" from the Windows App Store.
You can use the link below to access that page directly:

Thank you! The printer does already work via USB but the step I was missing was downloading the Windows app instead of the Canon app. Once I did that I did have to remove the device and re-add it, but the scanning functionality worked right away in the Windows app.
So simple and yet nothing easily pointed me in that direction. Thank you!!

I'm having the same problem. Had to upgrade my 12 year old HP laptop because of the Windows 11 update required. My new laptop is a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15Q8X10 and will not install the Canon drivers. So I can connect to print using the Microsoft drivers for basic printing and scanning. But I am missing the functionality of the Canon drivers which allow me to connect and scan directly to my laptop as well as scanning multiple pictures at once into separate files at the scanners highest dpi. So being stuck with the Microsoft drivers basically dumbs down my PIXMA TS9521C. I read the solution above re Intel vs ARM architecture in relation to the Canon drivers. Would be nice if there was a way to contact Canon Support to see if this issue is being addressed.
