I cannot find this information anywhere and/or too many mixed answers, lets say the color ink runs out and we still print with only black and white ink?
I now some HP printer's can is what they call single cartridge mode, this maybe a deal breaker for me.
Anyone?

Hello Uncharted2001,
You can print black when the color runs out, but we don't recommend it. If color runs out, you can disable the ink detector by holding/pushing "STOP" on the PIXMA for 5 seconds. It will re-enable the ink detection when new ink is inserted.
We hope this helps!
