At the end of my rope trying to print true colors Pixma G4210

I have a Pixma G4210 which was working just fine until I had to download and reinstall/update the canon driver because of a network connectivity issue. I have the latest firmware for my device. I am running a Macbook Air M1 2020 w/macOS 11.7.10. When I print color,  the colors are brownish. Doesn't matter if it is a photo from iphoto, a PDF, or a web page. The issue is the same with a USB connection or wireless and also occurs other Apple devices (ipad) using airprint. Magenta is particularly off, it looks brown.

This is NOT a mechanical problem, print head is aligned and the nozzle check passes perfectly. The colors are true in the nozzle check. Black and white printing is fine.

I've looked everywhere on the knowledge base and in the process read about a 1000 posts from people who can't unclog their ink. Since I've had to unclog the ink about a billion times I'm an expert. This is NOT the issue.

It seems that the color calibration profile is incorrect/ incompatible with my OS. Anyone got any suggestions? I'm about ready to get rid of the printer.

Hi suzr1,

We can assist you with this, but would need a little more information.

Please scan or take a photo of the latest Nozzle check that you have printed from your G4210 and then please attach that to your reply to this post.  Please also attach an example of the incorrect color printing that you are experiencing.

Being able to view these items will assist with determining the cause of the color issue you are experiencing with your PIXMA G4210.

Thanks Patrick.  Attached are three images. The first is a screen shot of my reference photo that I'm trying to print. The second is a scan of the nozzle check. The third is a scan of the print I get from my printer, it isn't on photo paper but you get the idea. muddy brownish images. To be clear this was not a problem before I had to reinstall the drivers.

I am most interested in the solution to your challenge with the Pixma G4210:

I have a similar issue with pictures / illustration documents printing different colors than those on my monitor.  I am using macOS Sequoia 15.5 on an iMAC with M3 chip.  Most glaringly my blues (display) print out as green. Using Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor 2025.  Have yet to solve the problem.
