Canon c100. Which Frame Rate? 30FP or 60i?

I'm shooting with a canon c100 and the footage will have to play nicely on an FCP7 timeline with footage from many other types of cameras - super8, sony pd170, and panasonic dvx100a & b.  Most of these were shot at 30fps. I've been told to shoot with the canon at 30 rather than 24p even though I prefer the look of the 24p.

The problem is that Canon's 30FP is 30 fps, progressive, recorded as 60i.  I don't think Canon's 30FP is the same as the 30 fps I was shooting with the other cameras and Canon doesn't seem to have a 30 fps option that is not recorded as 60i.  I don't really understand what that means and which Canon format (60i or 30FP) is closer to my 30 fps on the other cameras.

QUESTION:

Should I choose Canon's  60i or 30FP?

and

2) If 30FP, shoot at 1/60 shutter?

or

3) If 60i, shoot at 1/120 shutter or 1/60 shutter?

Would love any wisdom you could share and/or websites and/or consultants to point me toward....

Thanks so much!
