Setting exposure using grey card on G40...?

I'll be doing a video shoot in a few weeks using 2x G40s and 1x G30. I would like to be able to set the exposure using a grey card, but neither the G40 or G30 gives exposure information on gallery media. Meaning, if I take a photo or shoot a short video clip of the grey card, exposed under the proper lighting using the "P" mode, Tv or Av, these two camcorders are not able to show me the gain, shutter or aperture of the clip or photo in camera - so I can then manually set the exposure.

Is there a way to set exposure on these two camcorder models using a grey card?

I do have a field monitor that is attached to one of the G40s that has a histogram, but I am wondering if I can do this without the field monitor.

Thanks!

Hello Qoncussion,

There are no modes on the VIXIA HF G40 and G30 that would work in the manner you describe, unfortunately.

Thanks, Tim. Your confirmation has ceased my search for an in-camera solution. I'll use the histogram on my external field monitor.
