I have 25' tripods for shoting sports. I would like to use the remote control from underneath the camera. Currently the sensor on the camera only allows you to use the remote control from behind the camera. Can I change the direction of the sensor to point downward? Is there a device I can plug into the USB port so I can use it from underneath the camera at 25'

IR can be bounced. I do this on projection screens and for a camera on a high tripod I use at church. I use a sticky note on the front that allows to me to send a signal toward the lens that bounces back into the IR recvr. You could also use a mirror. Operation outdoors might me sketchy unless you had a tube or something to block ambient light and hold the mirror.
