Video recordings are incomplete/choppy

[ Edited ]

When I record, it doesn't show the time thing (0:00:00) moving, but it does record.  But the recordings are super abbreviated/choppy - hours of taping end up being seconds in length.  Same thing with two different SD cards, both of which worked fine days ago.  Any suggestions?  (Vixia HFR700)

Re: Video recordings are incomplete/choppy

Hi Jonahmo,

Thank you for posting.

So we may better assist you, please provide the following information:

  1. Have you initialized your memory cards, using the camcorder's "Complete Initialization" option, as described on page of the VIXIA HF R700 Instruction Manual?
    • (Please note: This process erases all data from the memory card, so please save any recordings to your computer before trying this step.)
  2. Which brand(s) and/or model memory cards have you tried in your camcorder?
