I do alot of videotaping under fluorescent lighting.  I have a Canon HF M500 Camcorder.  The noses on the faces are very hot white.  How do I fix that?

Hi Greggmbennett,

Sorry to hear that your subjects faces are poorly colored.  You may be able to resolve this by choosing the "Fluorescent" White Balance Setting.  To use this setting, choose the manual setting for your camcorder.

Now Choose "FUNC", then "WB White Balance" and choose "Fluorescent".  Mow, just "X" out of the menu.

If the lighting is a daylight-type lighting, then try "Fluorescent H".

If you have an X-Rite (or other) white card, you can put the camera into manual, do a manual white balance and have the color correct under your flourescent lights.  If the built-in settings don't match the color of your tubes, you'll never get the right balance.  A white card fixes all of this handily.
