Nothing is showing up on the SD Card, is there a way to save the footage? Thank you!

Are you sure you were saving to the SD card and not the devices internal memory?
The battery going dead should not have lost your footage
Use a file recovery application such as PhotoRec. Obviously we don't know if anything was in fact saved. But if something is there, it might see it.

Hello kenadams,
If the recording was interrupted while you were recording then it may not have saved the recordings. As another forum member has suggested, you might wish to try image recovery programs as a method to recover the footage. Canon does not include these programs with the camcorder however and for this we apologize.
