I'm in the same boat, and the reply from John_Q to sharris (above) did not help.

Canon EOS Rebel T6i
MacBook Pro 2015 under Mac OS Monterey (v. 12.7.6)
Chrome v. 143.0.7499.148
T6i USB cabled to Mac
Canon EOS Webcam Utility Pro v. 2.3.55.1242 (fresh install today)
Facebook now recognizes the EOS Webcam Utility (but did NOT see it under Safari v. 17.6)
But I get the black starting screen "EOS WEBCAM UTILITY" appearing the center of the black rectangle as I prepare to go live with my stream.
I am running no other software; I do not have the EOS Utility installed, just the Webcam Utility Pro.
The Rebel T6i is on, switched to video mode on the main function switch, I hit the record button as well, though Record on or off makes no difference in Facebook.

Where is the video signal??

Ben

EOS Webcam Utility on Rebel T6 on Mac OS Monterey 12.7.2

Hello!

I downloaded the webcam utility for the first time and when connected with the usb provided with the camera, the screen just shows the EOS Website Utility black screen in the app. There are no other apps open that use the camera as I tried to open the EOS program after reboot.

Has anyone else had this issue? What was the resolve?

Thank you!

Hello sharris,

When you see a black screen it is most likely because EOS Webcam Utility is in use by another application. You can either close the other application or deselect EOS Webcam Utility in the other application to restore the video feed. Secondly, You want to close any applications that may be running on your computer, or in your task tray that may be connected to your camera or using the camera’s LiveView video signal. For example: Canon's EOS Utility or an application connected to the camera like another video conferencing app. When you connect the camera, there is an icon in the top right corner of your computer screen for EOS Utility. Make sure that you close that. It will keep the Webcam Utility from connecting to the camera.
