Hi Starbucks411,

The EOS R5 C is essentially two completely different types of cameras in one camera body, so there will be some differences in what it is compatible with compared to the EOS R5. The EOS Webcam Utility is for photography centered cameras. That software is not compatible with our cinema cameras, and since the EOS R5 C is a cinema camera when it is set to video mode it is not compatible with that software.

To use the EOS R5 C, or our other cinema cameras, as a webcam we would recommend using an HDMI cable to connect the camera to a capture card and then use capture software on your computer to out put the video feed to your streaming or conferencing service. We do not make capture cards or capture software through Canon, so there aren't specific ones we could recommend.

With the PD-E1 USB Power Adapter you could run the camera through a USB connection, but it wouldn't work while an HDMI is connected to the camera. When doing HDMI streaming on the EOS R5 C we would recommend using our AC power adapter to power the camera through a wall outlet. That adapter has two parts and you would need both. The CA-946 AC Adapter is the part that would plug into your power outlet and the DR-E6C DC Coupler is the part that would plug into the camera's battery compartment.

FYI- not urgent - since I have other means to stream thru Zoom (C100 mk ii with HDMI-USB adaptor, 5D mk iv directly thru USB-A).

Just upgraded to Sonoma 14.4 and installed the EOS WCU 2.1.18.

The list of supported cameras for WCUPro 2 shows R5 but not R5C. Since this utility is to be used in video mode, Im not surprised the "C" is not supported due to it's non-traditional {non-DSLR style} video firmware. I suggest this is something that Canon should address later. It will probably mean that I cannot power the camera totally from USB-C and stream at the same time. The Mains powered battery eliminator would probably have to be used for long sessions.

The 5D Mk iv works with the new WebCam Pro (free mode) and Zoom.

Thanks SHADOWSPORTS

The R5C USB mode completely bypasses the EOS Webcam utility. The camera shows up as another source in the Zoom list:
