topic Webcam Utilities didnt recognize EOS-M50 on windows laptop without write permission in EOS Webcam Utility Pro - Discussions

Hi I have a company laptop in which I am standard user (Don't have permission to write to drives connected via USB).
I installed Webcam utilities and connected the M50 camera. I see that the camera is listed on windows settings/bluetooth-and-other-devices. But I cannot use it with teams, zoom, camera app, or any other applications.

Also on Webcam utilities app the icons are disabled.

The camera works fine on my other personal laptop. But does not work with the company laptop.
Is it because of the write permission issue? Is there a way to fix this ?

Thank you

Hi there,

Based on what you describe you are probably right about it being an access permissions issue. Really the only way around it is to have your IT department install the utility and allow the permissions with their credentials.
