just trying to do Facebook live & prefer to use my mounted camera setup than my cell phone for this purpose

I doubt it. It is mostly the interchangeable lens camera bodes that supported. Even then, support is mostly on camera bodies that support video recording and remote shooting via USB.

The EOS Webcam Utility download page lists all of the supported cameras.

I'm trying to do a facebook LIVE! setup and it looks like the SX70 is a camera to use. I wonder if the webcam utility allows operation of the camera lens during broadcast?

let me download that app & see if it starts up without a camera attached, so I can look...
