The ST-E3 RT is radio wireless only, and the 430EX is optical wireless only, so they are not compatible and will not work together.

I currently have a 430 EX and a 430 RT iii EX.

Am I able to control both of these speedlites with the ST E3 RT?

Or will there be any limitations with the older EX?

Getting ready to order the controller but want to make sure it will satisfy my needs.

Also, if anyone has any resources for learning how to maimize the potential of these I would really appreciate some direction.

Thank You

Shooting with a 5D mk 3

Regarding the potential of speedlites, I got started with Syl Arena's "Lighting for Digital Photography" and "Speedliter's Handbook" books.

But there have also been numerous presenters (to include Syl) at the various B&H event spaces over the years. Check out this listing.
