Weather sealed don’t fully slide in properly. The manuals for multi function shoe cameras mention this. The only weather sealed speedlite I own is the 600EX II-RT. All of my other speedlites are not. The legacy pins are still there on all EOS R series cameras. Except for the R50.

This is really a problem for Godox to answer.

Which menu are you trying to display?

You probably won't get much more than turning the flash on and off.

The Speedlite Control Menu is only designed for Canon Speedlites. 3rd Party Speedlites, Triggers and Macro ring lites. Are NOT COMPATIBLE with the Speedlite Control Menu. That menu is only for Canon’s own flash products. Not even all of them are FULLY COMPATIBLE. But all the stuff released from 2008 forward are FULLY COMPATIBLE.

Canon recommends using AD-E1 Shoe Adapter for use with legacy EX series Speedlites.

You might want to try turning on the flash before turning on the camera.

That adapter is for weather sealed speedlites. Speedlites that aren’t weather sealed don’t need it. The EOS R50 requires it because it’s only compatible with multi function hot shoe flashes.

The Godox X3 trigger works with the R6 Mark ii speedlite controls. I have 3 Godox speed lites all connected to the X3 trigger and they all work in all modes. Id imagine R7 is the same.

The EOS R7 is very finicky with 3rd Party equipment. The EOS R10 is the same way too. Just because it works on the EOS R6 Mark II doesn’t mean it’s automatically compatible with the EOS R7. There have been several instances of this.
