    <title>topic Canon LiDE 400 scanner error codes - Windows 11 in Scanners</title>
    <link>https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Scanners/Canon-LiDE-400-scanner-error-codes-Windows-11/m-p/381979#M764</link>
<description>&lt;P&gt;When I installed a Canon LiDE 400 scanner to my Windows 11 PC and tried to scan using both the software and the buttons on the device.&amp;nbsp; In both cases I kept on getting a message that said “Cannot communicate with scanner for these reasons: Scanner is turned off. USB cable is disconnected.&amp;nbsp; Please check and try again. &amp;nbsp;Scanner driver will be closed.&amp;nbsp; Code:2, 156, 33”&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; When I contacted Canon support (chat), I was specifically asked whether the scanning bar was positioned at the front of the scanner or at the hinge.&amp;nbsp; It was at the hinge.&amp;nbsp; Canon was nice enough to send a replacement scanner along with a shipping label to return the original device.&amp;nbsp; I installed the replacement device today and it worked with no problems.&amp;nbsp; The scanning bar is positioned at the front of the device and not at the hinge.&amp;nbsp; I appreciate Canon's quick turnaround.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
