topic CanoScan LiDE 400 / Canon IJ Scan Utility Lite no Longer Imports to Photos App in Scanners

Canon IJ Scan Utility Lite no longer allows multiple photo scans to automatically import to MacOS Photos app. Prior to this issue I could scan 4 4x6 photos at a time into Photos. Currently it only shows grey photo place holders. Scanning one photo at a time works fine. I would prefer not to use workarounds such as Image Capture. I would like it to work the way it used to work.

I'm using MacBook Air M1, MacOS Monterey 12.4, Photos Version 7.0 (450.0.160), Canon IJ Scan Utility Lite Version 3.3.1

No updates are are showing in Canon support for MacOS Monterey.

I'd greatly appreciate any help from the Community towards solving this one. Cheers!

Hi eatmocrawfish,

Please toggle the lock switch on the bottom of your CanoScan LiDE 400 a few times, leaving it in the unlocked position. Next, please open the IJ Scan Utility and click the Photo or Document button. Open the lid to the scanner.

Is the scanning element moving back and forth inside of your scanner?

Is the light on the scanning element lit during the scan process?
