topic ScanGear Options Grayed Out in Scanners

I too have a LIDE 300. Until recently the options for input paper size and the dpi setting in ScanGear were available. Now, after I downloaded an update, they're greyed out. I uninstalled IJ Scan and reinstalled it from original disk, ScanGear got installed, but still with the new restrictions. Are configuration settings stored somewhere apart from the executables, and preserved despite an uninstall?
