topic Canon CR-120 Ranger Driver Question in Scanners

Hello,

I wanted to find out if the Ranger Driver that is offered as a download for the Canon CR-120 is the full Ranger API that is offered by Silver Bullet. Also, wanted to know if we can utilize the Ranger driver to interface with the scanner in order to communicate with it through a custom scanning software were looking to build. We want to make a basic windows app that scans the checks, saves the image and utilize the endorsing feature built into the scanner. Is this possible with the Ranger API driver offered on Canon's website?

Thanks

Hi,

The Ranger driver allows your scanner to be used with a wide range of leading check processing software. Ranger is an industry standard check scanner interface specification provided by Silver Bullet Technology.

With check readers, Canon provides the driver but not the scanning software because each customer or company may use different software. You will need to contact your software vendor or you can use the Software Development Kits to build in that functionality that you need the scanner to do.

You can find out about Canon Software Development Kits.
