&lt;P&gt;Are you waiting to plug the scanner in until prompted to do so by the installer?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Do you have any third party antivirus installed?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You don't need to mention Windows Defender. It's native and included with Windows.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You can use the link in Hector's post above. To receive support, you'll register your product and it will give you support options.&amp;nbsp; The telephone number for Canon support is 800-652-2666, but you'll need to register your product first.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>CanoScan LiDE 400 install stalls - waiting for Scanner w/o power key to turn on</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Downloaded the driver and waiting till it told me to plug in the USB cable - which I did.&amp;nbsp; Then install STALLED waiting for me to power on via a switch that does not exist on the LiDE 400.&amp;nbsp; Instructions were to remove and then reinstall the usb cable - which I did.&amp;nbsp; Then I was instructed to restart the install.&amp;nbsp; Keeps stalling in the same location w/o doing much.&amp;nbsp; This must be very common for the LiDE 400 without a power switch.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Was there ever a resolution to this issue?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am experiencing the same problem.&amp;nbsp; The install hangs on Step 3 once it has recognized the presence of the scanner.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am running Windows 11 Home on a Dell XPS 17 9730 laptop with 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900H (2.60 Ghz) processor and 32.0 Gb installed RAM.&amp;nbsp; I checked to verify that no Windows Updates are running.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have tried this several times with the same result.&amp;nbsp; I have to click 'Troubleshooting' and then click 'Cancel'.&amp;nbsp; When I look at Installed Apps, I see 'Canon IJ Scan Utility', 'Canon Inkjet Printer/Scanner/Fax Extended Survey Program', and 'CanoScan LiDE 400 Scanner Driver' listed, BUT... there are no file sizes associated with any of these allegedly installed apps.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If there is no resolution to this issue yet, does anyone know how best to get ahold of someone at Canon for support?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
