I've had this scanner for two years now, and all of the sudden, when I plug it in, it crashes my computer. I've tried restarting, and have ensured all updates to my computer have been done. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, but can't do this because to reinstall you have to plug the scanner in, and when I do that, my computer crashes.

Hi emily314,

Is the USB cable connected to a USB hub or docking station? If so, plesae connect the USB cable from your CanoScan LiDE 400 directly to your computer.

Do you have a different USB port on your computer that you could try using?

Have you tried using a different USB cable?

To narrow down the cause, do you have a different computer that you could try installing your CanoScan LiDE 400 on?

Yes, I have tried different cables, and it still crashes. The scanner does work on another computer. How can I get it to work on mine again? I have two kinds of anti-virus software and don't think that's the issue. Thank you!
